Objective:
Create a visually engaging photograph of your favorite candy that makes it look appealing and irresistible. This project will help you practice food photography techniques, including composition, lighting, and styling.Requirements:
1. Choose Your Candy:
1. Choose Your Candy:
- Select your favorite candy and bring it to class.
- You are responsible for providing the candy for your shoot.
2. Concept Development:
- Spend time brainstorming a creative concept.
- Think about how to showcase the candy in a way that is visually interesting and appetizing.
- Consider color, texture, and mood. Will your photo feel playful, elegant, dramatic, or fun?
- Use food photography principles:
- Lighting: Soft, diffused light works best for food. Avoid harsh shadows.
- Composition: Apply the rule of thirds, leading lines, or symmetry.
- Background & Props: Choose props and surfaces that complement the candy without distracting from it.
- Focus & Depth of Field: Highlight the candy as the main subject.
Final Image:
- Submit 1–3 high-quality images that best represent your concept.
- Images should be well-composed, properly exposed, and edited for color and clarity.
- Use natural light near a window or a soft light source.
- Experiment with angles: overhead, 45°, or eye-level.
- Keep the candy looking fresh and clean—avoid fingerprints or melting.
- Think about storytelling: What feeling or idea do you want your photo to convey?
- If you need a seamless paper color we don't have, let me know and I can order it.
